Training

Bryony May is our coach. She coaches us 1 day per week. This will be on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm at the  Maguiresbridge GAA pitch on the Drumgoon Road. See notices on the private members Facebook page.

Sessions will focus on endurance and speed. Bryony will devise a plan for the rest of the week and it's up to each individual to stick to it or modify as required.

For those looking to make improvements on their 10km times to be out doing at least 15-20 miles per week.

Half Marathoners should be getting upwards of 25-30 miles per week.

Marathon runners 35+.

At the beginning of each week, coach Bryony will post a training plan on our dedicated Facebook page. Please find an example below:

Training sessions:

Monday - Rest or cross-train 


Tuesday - 10 mins warm up jog, dynamics, hill repeats (number of reps depends upon the hill you choose but aim for 20-25 hard work) then 10 mins cool down jog & stretches


Wednesday - 3 mile recovery run 


Thursday - 5 mile tempo run 


Friday - Rest or cross-train


Saturday - Parkrun (5k / 3m)


Sunday - 13 miles / 21km
